Book-Writing Class starts October 6th!

It’s time for another book-writing class! My next class series starts Tuesday, October 6th from 7 to 9pm in the East/West Fellowship Room at Bethel Church.  All are welcome!  This time, there is a $35 fee which includes a copy of my manual “How to Write & Publish Your Book”.  We will be using this as class curriculum and it makes a great take-home resource that you can refer to in the coming months and years.

If you attended the class last spring, you know how powerful it was.  God’s wind was all over the class and we saw many breakthroughs in people’s writing projects!  Once again, God’s presence and power will be in the class, ready to empower every book author to write and complete their book projects.  If you’re not sure whether or not you even want to write a book, just come!  Let the Holy Spirit speak to you, breathe on you, and set your dream on fire.  Writing a book is easier than you think!  Just ask all the people who are now book authors thanks to the previous book-writing class!

UPDATE: Please show up early!  Arrive at 6:30 if possible to take care of class registration.

Student Success Stories

There are now at least six people who have fully completed and published their books.  Others are still in the finishing process, getting endorsements and forewords written.  If you want to see the books that have been published and are now for sale, check out the Student Success Stories page that lists the books that have been published.  If your book is ready for sale but isn’t on there, let me know!  I want to track all of my students’ progress so please keep me updated.

Testimonials & Ideas

I’d like to ask a favor from those of you who attended the class last time.  Could you please write up a sentence or two to describe the class, my teaching, the practicality, God’s presence, and anything else that impacted you?  I want to know how the class affected you and how it has helped or is helping you with your writing project.  Can you please submit a short testimonial about me and the class to  aaron [at] aaronmcmahon (dot) com.  Please submit them by Tuesday, September 8th.  I may use some of these on a testimonials page of my book-writing manual and perhaps on my website.  This will be really helpful as I expand the class and may need to take these to Bethel leadership to let them know what you think of the class.  Thanks!

If you have any ideas or constructive feedback about the class and how I can change it for the next series, please email me and let me know.  My assistant Angelo and I have spent all summer discussing ways we can make the class better.

Exciting class changes!

Perhaps the most important change is that the class is now broken up into two class series of 8 weeks each.  This should be much easier than a single 15-week run like last time.  I think that wore some people out (it certainly wore me out!).  The first 8-week series will focus on writing your book and will go from October 8th through November 24th.  The second 8-week series will start in late January.  I’ll give you the exact details sometime in November once I’ve gotten things figured out.  The second 8-week series will focus on publishing, marketing and selling your book.  Having a two month break between the two classes during the holidays and early January will also give you time to get some writing done before we get into the publishing process where you’ll be able to publish whatever you’ve written into a professional book form.

Every class will now be professionally videotaped and DVDs will be made available.

It’s time to write our books!

When the class series ended in April, we had about 25 students who wrote at least one chapter of their book (many wrote more chapters) and printed them as books through Lulu.com.  I’ve never seen such happy, proud and excited people!  We had a chance for everyone to walk around and see each book, talk to the book authors, and we had food and snacks to create a fun casual atmosphere.  We’ll do the same thing again next February or March as the last class of the series.

I really want to encourage you to come to my class in October if you weren’t able to go through the who series last time.  I think you’ll find it much easier having it broken up.  Eight weeks is totally do-able for most schedules.  I will also reiterate that if you want to write a book, you will need to sacrifice some of your time… for a season!  Once your book is done, you’ll get that time back.  Can you commit to a season of about 4 to 6 months to write and finish your book?  If so, you’ll be a published book author!

Feel free to invite friends you know who want to write a book but don’t know how to get started.  I want to see MANY book authors coming out of this class, living their God-given destiny.  Will that be you?  All you have to do is come and be activated.  Let God water the seed of passion he’s placed inside you.  If you can commit to your vision and give it your time for a season, I can promise you’ll have your book finished, published and ready to sell!

  1. Vincent Rodriguez says:

    Aaron,

God used your book writing class to help me step into my destiny. You made me believe I could write a book, and showed me how to do it. I believe what I am writing has the potential to affect history. If not, it is at least changing me.

  2. Thank you so much Aaron for following God’s call and teaching this book writing class. It’s helped me fulfill my dream of writing my books that exist in my heart. This class pulled a reality of heaven into the dream of this earth for me, and I really appreciate what you’ve done. What you taught us was very practical – some of it even info that we should have known! But the difference is that we didn’t believe it was possible or we thought it was just a far off thing. But your teaching changed that. You made so many people’s dreams come true! Thanks.
