In the final teaching class of the Book Writing course, I taught the class how to market, promote and sell their new book.
$2.95

Download a 1 hour and 51-minute MP3 of this class to listen on your iPod, MP3 Player, or computer media player.
There are a number of ways to market and promote your book:
- Forewords or endorsements from famous or well-known people
- Get mentioned in a popular blog
- Write your own blog to build an audience of readers
- Build an email newsletter list
- Teach a class about your topic
- Create an online storefront to sell your book
- Write magazine articles about your topic as a way to promote your book which contains much greater detail
- Network with other people for direct promotion or to open up other doors of opportunity
- Speaking engagements in churches, home groups, conferences, lectures, trade shows, libraries, and coffee shops
- Book Signings
- Book Readings
- Facebook
- Amazon.com
- Give away free books to key people
- Sell your book at conferences, trade shows, and other key events which draw people interested in your book’s topic
Wheatmark Publishing has produced an excellent 94-page Adobe PDF document called “Book Marketecture” which gives many practical tips and great ideas for marketing and promoting your book. I highly recommend downloading and reading this document. It will really help you succeed in selling your book!
And finally… I discovered a handout that I forgot to, er, hand out. This is a Reader Assessment Form that you can print and give to people who are reading your manuscript and giving you feedback.
NOTE: Next week’s class will be a Show & Tell where book authors will be showing their printed chapters in book form. Bring a snack, drink or dessert and let’s have fun connecting and socializing!
